German painter Heinrich Lossow’s The Sin (1880), depicting a scene from the Banquet Of Chestnuts, a party at the papal palace in Rome in 1501 hosted by Cardinal Cesare Borgia, the son of Pope Alexander VI. The event was depicted in the diaries of Apostolic and Master of Ceremonies Johann Burchard. Autre is thrilled to premiere the music video for Ashes In Water, a breathtakingly tender and heartbreaking song from the ultra talented @juliussmack from his EP Serenity on @leavingrecords It is a track about grief and omnipresent life in both the waking and dreaming worlds. The lyrics emerged from the summer of 2020, when the artist was quarantining on a lake, following the death of his uncle after a fast decline from alcoholism. One afternoon, smoking cigarettes and drinking beer at the water’s edge, he recalls a dream in which a man, in a plaid shirt in a motel room, sliced himself open with an axe.
