From the fitting room to the big screen, costume designer @shirleykurata shares her process for creating Jobu’s looks for Everything Everywhere All at Once.
K-pop look:
“Inspired by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Jeremy Scott, K-pop girl bands, and Harajuku FRUiTS fashion.”
Bagel look:
“We had already begun shooting in the IRS building so I had to try out the ruff in between takes to figure out the size. We had to shrink down the ruff so it could give room for Jobu’s hairstyle.”
Goth look:
“Inspired by elegant, gothic Lolita fashion — goth anime.”
Her hard work paid off, as the visually stunning pieces helped @stephaniehsuofficial craft a dynamic character in Jobu Tupaki.
