Thank you for all your kind messages about the costumes in @everythingeverywheremovie It really means a lot to me! I’ve been getting a lot of questions about Evelyn’s “punk”sweater she wears at the lunar new year party. I got it at a shop in the Saigon plaza in LA’s Chinatown- a shop Evelyns would go to to get their red attire for the new year holiday. It came as is, with the word punk emblazoned on the back. I thought how appropriate it was- because to me Evelyn is punk rock. She, like so many immigrant moms, came to a foreign country, a country that spoke a different language from their own, to start a business and try to provide a better life for their family. It takes a lot of courage and grit to do so and the path is oftentimes difficult. I also wanted to share one of my favorite accessories that didn’t get much screen time- Dierdre Beaubierdre’s cat purse. You will see pictures of cats on her office desk and in her home in the hotdog universe. Dierdre, like me, is a cat lady! Lastly people may wonder about Jobu’s look in the IRS office. I called it jumbled Jobu, others on the crew called it the hodgepodge look. The Daniels wanted her to tumble down the stairs and then have her end up in a sort jumbled mixed up way- like if you threw all her clothes in a dryer and it came out all stuck together. You can see elements of her golf and wrestler looks as well as Joy’s costumes and you can see the repeated use of plaid for Joy and Jobu. Working with these three actresses @michelleyeoh_official@curtisleejamie and @stephaniehsuofficial was such a treat to me, their kindness and professionalism and openness is a costume designer’s dream! And also big love to @michellechung13 and @anissaemily who killed it with the makeup and hair. 🥯🥯🥯👀👀👀🐈🐈🐈❤️❤️❤️

Words can’t describe my experience costume designing @everythingeverywheremovie from working with the brilliant Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert) to the amazing cast and crew. The film will be shown in theatres starting tomorrow so be prepared for a crazy and existential journey into the multiverse. A big thank you to my costume team and to all the designers and people who collaborated with me on this film. Go check it out on the big screen if you can!❤️❤️❤️👁👁👁
Thanks @theselby and @ladoublej for thinking of me and having me on this project. And to my cat Mooney for being such a great and well dressed dance partner. Repost from @theselby
