A series of photos whilst visiting @kirstenbosch_nbg in Cape Town.
With 7000 species of plants, it is regarded as one of the richest botanic gardens in the world and is located in the Cape Floristic Region (A @unesco World Heritage Site).
Pictured here is volunteer guide ‘Ruth’, a retired immunologist who now spends her time educating both tourists and South African locals about the importance of preserving South Africas indigenous flora and fauna 🌿🌵🌺
For outdoor brands, whose products are so closely woven with our natural world, the responsibility to craft products that are conscious of their impact on the environment is critical.
It's reasons like this that I seek to work with brands like @sealandgear, a Cape Town based adventure lifestyle brand ticking all the right boxes.
Through three key material categories (one being yacht sails, their heritage material), their passion for slick design and the opportunity for products to be repaired, they are able to keep kit up to scratch for adventure after adventure.
It's these rebellious mindsets from brands such as @sealandgear which directly challenge the toxicity of the fashion industry today and show that a different way is possible.
