7 Para RHA vs 1 RHA RA Gunner Cup Semi Final Colchester Garrison Tue 31st May 2022 After a disappointing result in the Army Cup Quarter-Final, 7 Para RHA looked to push for some silverware this season with the Gunner Cup the only competition remaining. With Key personal and players back from their recent work commitments, 7 Para RHA were blessed with having a full squad for this fixture and looked forward to the game. However 1 RHA did not make this easy work. 7 found themselves going into HT 4-1 Up. After a crazy turn of events in the second half. 1 RHA pulled back the result to 4-4. Full time 5-5 Extra time had both teams chasing the result but ultimately ended 6-6. After a cracking game. 7 Para RHA won the game on penalties 5-4. Goalscorers Sgt Lewis x2 LBdr Timmins x2 Gnr Polius x1 Capt Schorah x1 MOM- Gnr Polius Credit to 1 RHA as they played some outstanding football. 7 Para RHA are building on the @16airassaultbrigade strong relationship with the Jordanian Quick Reaction Force. Earlier this year a team from 7 deployed to Jordan to conduct an artillery training package with Jordanian counterparts. Live firing 105mm artillery and conducting Air Land Integration are all part of the Joint Fires that @7pararha bring to the British Army's only very high readiness brigade (@16airassaultbrigade). The airborne gunners of 7th Parachute Regiment Royal Horse Artillery have been put through their paces on Exercise Cypher Strike. The two-week training at Otterburn tested the full range of the units capabilities to ensure their readiness for contingency operations. 7 Para RHA was supported by HAC reservists, weapon locating radar from 5 Regt RA, Exactor missiles from 26 Regt RA, mortars from 3 PARA and their French partner unit 35e RAP. #16airassaultbrigade #7pararha #otterburn #artillery #rha #globalresponseforce
