Despite being forced to leave the Himalayas two years ago because of a pandemic lockdown, a part of me has remained in the mountains. When I just returned there on a short assignment, I called a friend to tell them that i missed the landscape, the people and the species and it felt like 'Home'. Although I was on an assignment to film/photograph people, our team did get lucky multiple times with Snow Leopards, and this picture is from one of those sightings. Usually, seeing a Snow Leopard 300 meters away is considered a decent sighting due to the high visibility of the trans-Himalayan clean and thin air. On this day, we found this Leopard on the road while driving, and it walked right next to our vehicle from a few feet distance before disappearing into the mountains. After this picture, I had to keep my telephoto aside and pull my phone camera out. Seeing it walk through this bush was indeed the highlight of the visit. @insidenatgeo@natgeo@Snowleopardtrust@Ncf.India#India#Himalayas#wildlife#photography#storytelling#naturalhistory
