So our toilet paper holder broke. I like fixing things. Electronics, furniture, lamps and lighting fixtures… apparently even toilet paper holders. The spot weld holding this little column in place just *boink* fell off. So I learned that using MAPP gas, and some solder with silver in it, I could braze my way to success. I ground out a new pocket for the little column to sit in, sandpapered off some of the finishing and roughed it up a bit. 30min later, plus some dremel work, 60 , 120 and 220 grit sandpaper… it was like new. This thing was like $15 and probably coulda just been trashed. But the financial costs to the rest of the world when this thing gets thrown out is likely wayyyyy higher than that.
