When @bbcmaestro asked me to teach a course on music production, I said if and only if I could give away every piece of knowledge - both technical and holistic - that I’ve ever learned. From chopping up a drum break to getting the most heartbreaking vocal out of a singer to coming up with a fire-ass bassline, simulating analogue tape sounds in your bedroom. And everything in between. This isn't just a bunch of "when we made Uptown Funk…” stories, this is instantly useable, applicable lessons to either start you off if you're a beginner or give you all the cheat codes if you're already making the bangers. Basically, all the stuff I wish someone had shown me at 20 years old. And most importantly it's how you will take these tools and combine them with your own amazing talent, so you can come back and be teaching me 10 years from now.
