The Radio Times website in the UK has just announced the results of its huge reader poll to find the best TV show of the last quarter century... and Call the Midwife is the clear winner!!
The poll, to mark the RadioTimes.com website's 25th birthday this year, received thousands of public votes for some of the most iconic shows on television in recent years. Yet Call the Midwife stormed to victory!
Series writer and Executive Heidi thomas said:
"All of us on the show are absolutely delighted to hear that RadioTimes.com readers have voted for us. It was just a really lovely surprise."
"When you’ve been going on for as many years as we have, you know you’re not the thrill of the new anymore, so I think it says a lot about our audience's loyalty.
