“Woodstock is the biggest mass of people ever gathered together for anything other than war.” -John Lennon
Today marks the 53rd anniversary of the 1969 Woodstock Festival. Over half a million people made the journey to that 600-acre farm. Woodstock was very much a movement and protest in support of peace during the Vietnam war. The festival changed Rock & Roll as we know it, and it was a defining moment for the counterculture movement.
In addition to its strong message, Woodstock featured 32 impressive musical acts. Some names included Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead, The Who, Janis Joplin, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and many more. What was your favorite act from the festival?
