There’s literally no excuse to treat us as anything less than the deities we are. You want us at your event- pay us well and treat us respectfully. Communicate efficiently, don’t expect us to do your job on top of our own, we have enough on our plate this month as it is, being the 1 month a year where we, the marginalised queers, are in high demand. Make sure we feel safe- don’t wait for us to tell you we don’t. Make sure we are getting to and from the event safely- understand that if we present as queer, we are in danger when in public. Period. We WILL get shit from the world for being who we are and that’s a year round thing, not just in June. It happens to me every single time I go out in drag. Trust that WE know what works and doesn’t work in our existence and SUPPORT US IN STAYING SAFE. And for Gawd’s sake do not question us regarding ANY OF THE ABOVE.
