Charging HOURLY was a Game Changer for Me! ⬇️ ⚠️WHY❓
•Not all heads of hair are the same! If I had a client that took me 1.5hrs & another that took 3hrs and did the same exact service, why would I charge them the same??? Yes, you can factor in extra bowls of color, bond builders, Glazes, Tip Outs, etc… but let’s face it! We can get very busy in a salon. ❌Now, what if I was a commission based stylist & forgot to add on my ticket (root melt, curls, and 2 extra bond builders)❓❓❓ Now My ticket becomes lower and now will not get paid for the extra work that I just done! It also helps us stylists to not get pushed over by clients saying they don’t need that extra conditioning treatments or glaze in their hair) Any normally this doesn’t happen, but in the beginning of my career I had a few clients saying they didn’t want the Glaze in their hair because they didn’t want to pay the extra $18 it was at the time.
⚠️If a new clients asks “How Much are Your Services?” I will generally say that it’s “X” amount per hour and for this service on your hair will take between 2 & 3 hours and they can do that math from there! Everything is included also in those hours! It also makes its easier on your front desk workers from entering all the extra info into the system 😉 Another good tip is to limit your service menu! If you have too many services on your menu it gets a little “too much” And will actually drive your ticket price lower in general! ❌Keep it short & simple!
