Spinning berries just for fun! Here’s the second part of this month’s personal project. 🍓🫐 Swipe for a look behind the scenes of this stop motion video. ✨ Videos two and three show the animation process in real time. 😆
Each time I moved the berries, they left a little juice on my vinyl backdrop. Vinyl is great for a project like this because you can wipe up the mess and keep moving. The space between each berry was too small to clean up well with a towel, so I used Q-tips to clean up those tight spaces!
Save this post if you want to reference it later!
If you want to see how to make this stop motion video from start to finish, keep your eye out. I recorded a full tutorial, and I can’t wait to share more details soon. 😄

Check out these colours and textures that the production and lighting teams created on the incredible Cuba set, built on Pinewood’s back lot in London.
The talents of the various design and shooting crews came together to create an result that was vibrant and utterly convincing.
Art Director Andrew Bennet worked with DoP Linus Sandgren to create light in a ‘very graphic way. Every window opened, and every louvre worked, so the cinematographer could put his lights anywhere.’
‘I love working on a stage. It’s more practical, you can control everything and design all the lights,’ says Sandgren who had ten construction cranes positioned around the vast back lot, with a massive light box hanging from each.
I was fortnate enough to travel to Cuba many years ago on one of my very first feature films, and I can tell you this felt like the real thing. Except for the cold. We spent many chilly nights shooting on the set, yet it was breathtaking every time.
I am going to be talking more about getting on set taking pictures in the upcoming Launchpad course - a free introduction to film stills photography taking place in early Sept. Link in bio to find out more and register.
