This is another one of those images from Iceland that somehow didn't come easy to me. I visited this spot about 10 times before finally getting the conditions I wanted to shoot it. Flickering aurora over the mountain peaks. Since the weather isn't easy in Iceland and Aurora weren't easy to come by during my last visits I was really happy when I was offered this scene in the first week of my private guiding with my two clients earlier this year. We were excited to say the least and shot all the way into the early morning hours before heading back to bed at 3:30am. It was one of the best nights I had spent in Iceland up to that point. Goes to show that this island is always a great spot to return too. Hopefully I can return next year again.
