Oregon Country Fair is a fifty-plus-year standing non-profit sort of renaissance festival in west Eugene, Oregon. Hosting 30,000-45,000 people and encompassing all that is the original hippie culture full of tree houses, green efforts, art installations, parades, live music, performances, 19 stages, activism, informational booths, water-fill stations, 80 food vendors, meditation spaces, holistic spas, libraries, community instruments, demonstrations, discussions, classes, over 300 artisans, and tasteful nudity. From the side acts to the street musicians, anyone peddling anything there has been approved along with a verification proving the vendors makes everything they sell and rigid rules to keep this going and the culture thriving. Many refer to it as a family-safe "burner" (relating to Burning Man Project) event despite rumors from their more liberal beginnings. The Grateful Dead even used to play this event. Although after hours, the vendors still have an exclusive secret party π We gratefully experienced this culture-rich event with veterans @AbsoluteKrunk , @BT_glass , and vendor @BlackFireGlassworks . AK's family had one of the founding seven booths of this festival for many years. Live glassblowing was not allowed for a long time, but @BanjoGlass and a welder vendor friend eventually got it to be accepted through all the politics. It is a place to nourish the soul, get lost, support local artists and quality crafts, get in touch with nature, and connect with the communityβπ
