➡️ Finishing Detail Work After Blow Drying!!! ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Dry cutting & detail work are a must after a haircut! Unfortunately back when I went to cosmetology school they did not teach us to go back in and check your work when “DRY”. Thank God for the power of social media in which newer stylists have access to more online education! But when your hair is dry, you can actually now see how the hair is going to fall when dry. Sometimes we can’t do a lot of texturizing or detail work when wet because of certain hair types, so we then finish the haircut dry! Especially before a Color service, I personally like to do most of the haircut first (when dry) so Im not cutting off what I just colored, I can cut & texturize more quickly & therefore enhance their haircut with their color!
❓Were you guilty of this when graduating❓

Anyone ever stress out cutting the length of the the blunt bang or getting the ends soft enough with out removing the length????
-cut dry to ensure proper length
-cut the first section blunt no texture . This will give the bang/fringe strength
-taking 1/2 in section drop sections a point cut at a slight diagonal until you get to the final section
- final section cut with a parallel point cut. This will ensure your soft blunt fringe has a good line to it..✌🏽
-I use @arcscissors PhantomII.. I have been in the industry 22 years.. they are the best. Use the code MATT15 and find your favorite..

Ever have to cut a micro fringe and start to sweat!!!!
Here is a fail safe way to end the sweats..
• start on wet hair . Determine the length and cut peaks and valleys.
• Take down half inch sections with in your pre determined bang section. Cut those blunt on the top of the peaks.
•continue on cutting blunt directly on top of your previously cut sections.
•blow dry and detail ✌🏽
I used my @arcscissors PhantomII .. love these shears they cut like butta.... If you need new shears DM for details 🫶🏽.

Slide cut VS Axis cut..
•Axis cutting is a similar movement to slide cutting. The difference is a slight open and close of the shear. That open and closing of the shear will maintain the integrity of the hair cuticle and ensure a longer lasting more durable texture.
•Slide cutting for me is a wet hair texturizing technique. What is the difference between a razor and a slide cut?? The answer not much. Make sure the hair type you choose to slide cut also would have the ability to handle a razor. Slide cutting can be a great technique but the fabric has to match the application!!!
•I am using @arcscissors PhantomII they maintain there edge and remove the hair with precision. Nothing beats a shear crafted in Japan w Japanese steel.

There is nothing more fun for me then when @kennagraze site in my chair. This haircut uses multiple layering techniques as a base some over direction and personalized texture.
•Her hair color is a @ruskhaircare 1BB 10vol for that perfect blue black shine
•I use @arcscissors phantom II for this cut . For me they are the perfect wet to dry shear. If you own these there is no need to have shears for wet and shears for dry. This makes the investment so worth it. Dm w questions or for a friends and family code if you are interested 👊🏽
• diagonal short layering on the sides to 1" behind the ear. Off a back center part over direct everything from the back to its respective side point cutting verticals section parallel to the ear.
•cut the fringe by doing a deep point cut on you first 1/2" section. Then place the following section on the forehead cutting your blunt fringe along the longest line of the first section you cut( this will give you great texture in the fringe)
•take a 1" Mohawk section down the center. Cut to desired length. Then take everything from the parietal up over directing to you Mohawk and point cut away.
•take sections straight out from the parietal and connect your sides and top. Ther should be a point to remove.
•blowdry and texturize✌🏽
