The Eastern Veil Nebula (NGC6992) in the constellation Cygnus. This is part of the remnants of a star 20 times more massive than the sun that became a supernova over 10,000 years ago. The supernova at the time would have been bright enough to be seen in the daytime! The nebula is about 2400 light years away and contains ionized oxygen and hydrogen which was captured separately using corresponding filters. This completes my trilogy of Veil Nebula images I’ve posted recently. Telescope: Skywatcher Esprit 100 f/5.5 Zwo ASI2600MM Pro Exposure: 75x 4min Ha, 75 x 4min O2 Mount: Celestron CGX Guiding: ASI290mini, 60mm scope Filter: Baader Ha and O2 Software: APT, DSS, Pixinsight Sky: Bortle 6
