It's a delicious single-origin coffee with balanced acid and sweetness, intense aromatics of chocolate and caramel, and a velvety texture. This unique speciality coffee is named after one of the most important rivers crossing the municipality of San Juan del Rio Coco, where our coffee farmers are located. Farmers apply organic and sustainable land management practices, growing coffee alongside a mix of native tree species, to support a biodiverse environment that is home to over 100 native tree species, tropical birds and mammals. Our capsules are made from plant-based materials, making them biodegradable and ideal for home composting. Simply place the used capsules in your food waste caddy, and they will biodegrade and decompose naturally within 24 weeks. Known as Zero Impact capsules, they were developed in response to the EU Circular Economy Action Plan, which aimed to ensure all plastic packaging within the EU would become reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2030. For every bag of coffee sold, local farmers plant trees to support the forest and their families.
