The Northern Lights captured by photographer @travisdamick ✨✨✨
Here's some background behind this scene👉 "After days of disappointment, the predicted solar storm finally hit earth creating one of the best northern light displays in years, giving me the best birthday present I could ask for. I received an alert late in the night of a high KP, so I decided to head out one more time to a road facing northeast just outside of Sun Valley, Idaho, thinking I had the best chance to capture it there. I took a few photos and to my amazement there it was! The northern lights! I ended up shooting photos on my Sony Alpha 7R IV, while my Sony Alpha 7R III took this time-lapse. Everything happened so fast and because of the disappointment from the previous nights I unfortunately only had one tripod with me. I had to prop the camera up on the side of the road and let the built-in intervalometer do its thing. One tip is always to be prepared, but if somehow you forget a tripod there are always ways to improvise, such as using anything around to prop up the camera. In this case, I used a blanket to protect the camera and help tilt it upwards towards the dancing northern lights."
