Today we celebrate the world's largest shark - the whale shark (๐๐ฉ๐ช๐ฏ๐ค๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ฐ๐ฏ ๐ต๐บ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ด)!
Here's a few whale shark facts for you:
๐ฆ The largest of all sharks, the whale shark is one of the 3 filter feeders and is completely harmless to humans
๐ฆ They belong to the carpet shark family (Orectolobiformes)
๐ฆ They are listed as ENDANGERED on the IUCN red list of endangered species
๐ฆ They have been recorded to dive down to 1900m depth!
๐ฆ They have armour (well, dermal denticles) on their eyes!!
