💥 5K RACE TIPS 💥 • • ➡️ WARM UP: The 5k is FAST & warming up is essential. You should be warming up with some easy minutes & a few strides or pickups. Don’t let the race be the first time your legs feel speed that day! • ➡️ HOLD OFF: Without fail, the start of a 5k is super fast! Don’t sprint off the line- I promise that pace that you think you can hold in the first 400-800 meters won’t feel like the same in mile 2️⃣. • ➡️ GET NEGATIVE: It’s ideal to try and negative split or even split the race…so again…don’t blow it in the first mile! • ➡️HOLD ON: Mile 2 is going to feel like no man’s land…hold your pace and focus on your form & breathing. • ➡️ MILE 3: Get comfortable being uncomfortable! Break this mile in 2️⃣ parts- first half mile you’re gearing up and holding on, the last half mile (and .1) you’re leaving it all out there! • ➡️ KICK IT UP: Practice your kick for the last stretch and remember… The faster you run the faster it’s over!! • • •
