We are so happy to present Byuka @_nymphology_ as our artist in residence 🌙
Byuka (they/them) is a migrant witch and performance artist, working at the intersections of poetry, dance and film. Their work investigates animism, queerness and intimacy through ritual and speculative fiction.
They are the co-creator of the Intimate Animals collective, where they explore eco-somatics through experiments of multispecies mythology-making and hybridisation workshops. Their work is also focused towards community engagement and ancestral healing through the collaborative project ‘Your pain is humming in my vertebrae’.
We can’t wait to share the projects they will be doing at Ugly Duck!

@Disturbance is built organically into a web 🕷 and a network model where past artists return as juries, speakers and mentors. One of our amazing judges is previous disturbance artist Amy Pennington @amy_pennington_
Amy Pennington makes work that uses humour to connect human experiences and socio-political issues. They use everyday materials and accessible processes to challenge the binaries of ‘high and low art’, often using queer mechanisms such as campness or satire. Amy makes drawings, books, DIY film and improvised performance. In their work, familiarity and accessibility are political strategies to spark a conversation, which soon reaches more complex terrain.

We are throwing a party and you are invited!
For one night only, on Saturday the 18th June, we will bring together a unique selection of artists and talented recent graduates to perform songs they love and which connect them with Collide. Expect renditions of Britney Spears, Patti Smith, Lana Del Rey, original compositions, greek folk songs, and much more.
We are back in one of London’s coolest places - Tanner Street’s warehouse - and where it all began for us back in 2016. Join us in a space which holds some of our most treasured memories, grab a drink (or more!) and raise your glass in a toast.
