i was so obsessed with this song when it came out and actually, i think the cd single was one of the first madonna merchandise items i ever purchased. the combo of the strings and the synths and the production is just top notch. the use of the auto-tune on the vocals was also such a unique. it was if she is the voice of technology or a robot and i love it. the music video is in my top 5 madonna videos too. i mean, there's a reason why madonna is the queen of the music videos, and "die another day" may be one of the best examples. it's like a mini-movie with tons of self-conscious undertones of battling the mind and self, but ultimately, survival, which if anything, madonna has survived.
