FORMULATION AND INSPO POST!!! Our artistic team was tasked to bring @alfaparfusa to @thebtcshow show stage as the “Italian House of Beauty” We did just that! We researched Italian art, fashion, and history to bring this vision to life. Our inspo came from the Italian Renaissance and Middle to Late 90’s/Early 2000 Italian Haute Couture Runway Fashion. Our inspo needed current, real world representation. The models and the team all represented different ethnicities, nationalities, hair types, textures, sex, genders, ages, life and career experiences, sizes etc….continuing to and inspire and lead our industry in true change. Change that’s not only talked about, change that’s about that action, and the continuation of that action. Art, Fashion, and Art History. My jam. I’ve always had a love affair with Italy because of this. In college, I was supposed to go to Florence, Italy to study abroad….at that time in my life, I worked full time as a hairstylist, and was enrolled as an Art and Fashion student full time. Yes. I was doing both. An A student in college, sometimes taking 18+hours a semester and slaying hair. While I was strong in my work ethic, I lacked in maturity and confidence to say NO to others, and yes to myself. I let a salon make me feel like I was being irresponsible by going to study abroad in Italy and “leaving them” to pick up the pieces. They were already making a sacrifice to let me adjust my work schedule to fit in my class schedule. I’m still working to get over that. Making the decision not to go to Florence has always been my biggest regret. However, I do feel if that didn’t happen the way it did, I may not have learned the lessons of life that I was supposed to learn. Leading me here. To the RIGHT NOW. Right now, I work for the Number One Italian Hair Color Company world wide @alfaparfusa @alfaparfmilanopro Literally the Best Color and Product technology ever. I am proud to be a part of a leadership team that really lives up to our values. I will finally get to Rome and Florence in October to study with my team and my peers. This show in particular was very important to myself and our team @cassiskovic @biancajcox. We wanted to bring Italian Luxury, a Renaissance to the USA, via our Artistry. We DID THAT.
