As an athlete, @dylanalcott is a Paralympic basketball champion with 23 quad wheelchair Grand Slam tennis titles! As a campaigner, he founded @dylanalcottfoundation, as well as AbilityFest, Australia’s only fully accessible Music Festival. Established in 1960, Australian of the Year recognises and celebrates incredible Australians who have made a positive difference to their communities. A fantastic afternoon in Windsor for #TheBigJubileeLunch! The Earl and Countess of Wessex joined the local community on the famous Long Walk - which has been lined with nearly 500 picnic benches as families and friends came together to celebrate the #PlatinumJubilee.

Celebrating the #PlatinumJubilee over tea! ☕ In the grounds of The Oval, The Prince and The Duchess joined Platinum Champions and guests at #TheBigJubileeLunch to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s 70 years. 🌟 Thank you to the Platinum Champions and all volunteers across Britain for the amazing contributions you make to our communities. 🐴 It was a hive of activity in the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace this afternoon as eight Windsor Greys were put to the Gold State Coach before it left to join the @platinumjubileepageant .

What do you know about the Gold State Coach that’s usually housed at the Royal Mews? Here’s 5 top facts we’re sharing before the Coach appears in the Platinum Jubilee Pageant later today. 1️⃣ The giltwood coach is 7 metres long and 3.6 metres tall. Weighing almost 4 tonnes, the coach needs 8 horses🐴 to draw it and never moves faster than walking speed. 2️⃣ The coach was commissioned in 1760 for George III’s coronation 🤴 in 1761. However the complexity of the project meant that it was used by the King for the first time for the State Opening of Parliament on 25 November 1762. 3️⃣ The Gold State Coach was used for Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation 👑 in 1953 and on other state occasions including the Golden Jubilee in 2002. 4️⃣ Windsor Greys draw the carriages in which The Queen, other members of the Royal Family and guests travel. They're so called because they used to be kept at Windsor in Victorian times, where they drew the private carriages of the Royal Family. 5️⃣ The Gold State Coach will be back on display in the #RoyalMews next week.
