We celebrated milestone anniversaries for the Pickering, Rangel, Payne, and FAIT fellowships today. These programs have enriched our institution, foreign policy, and development work in ways that are immeasurable, but so incredibly powerful. I also announced two new Department of State Career programs today. The Colin Powell Leadership Program and William D. Clark, Sr. Fellowship will join our arsenal of programs aimed at building a @StateDept that represents America and leads on the global stage.
Sub-Saharan Africa is a major force for the future. I met with young members of the African diaspora this week because the partnerships we hope to build extends beyond government. For us, this is not about what we do for Africa, but what we do with Africa.
