You can call me a Floridian now 😝🌴🤍 // El estado del sol ☀️ me da la bienvenida! Gracias mi Dios por esta oportunidad y nuevo capítulo en mi vida y carrera profesional 🎉🎉🎉
First ➡️ last day! To the place that gave me my first on-air TV job, the place that showed me the ropes, to the community that welcomed me and showed me so much love, THANK YOU!
It has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions these past three years but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
@wrdetv Draper Media thank you so much for taking a chance on this girl from Reading, PA with big dreams. This means a lot not only to me but my family and future girls who look like me and come from places similar to where I come from.
Delmarva has allowed me to not only grow professionally but form incredible connections / friendships.
Starting over is tough, but after three years I am ready to take on a new market and continue to climb up the news latter.
I cannot wait to share the big news on what’s next but for now I’ll keep the suspense going!
☀️🌴🤍
I am #JustAKidFromReading who went for it & put in the work! I’ve always wanted an #Emmy but to receive 2x 🏆🏆 (still can’t believe it) this early in my career is beyond amazing.
Thank you God for showing me all the signs all my life that this was the career and plan You had for me 🤍🫶 thank you to my friends, family, and everyone else who has shown me so much support since day 1.
It all became clear to me in 2013 when I used to do pageants and I shared with a director my passions and she told me “you should pursue journalism,”
But it wasn’t until 2015 I took action in switching majors my sophomore year of college to Broadcast Journalism and Spanish at @pennstate (the headache I gave my parents when I told them that I was moving away from home 😂 @ddcespedes04)
Like everything in life, nothing comes easy and so many ups and downs have occurred along the way but moments like this are Gods way of saying Trust In Me & Your Process.
Finally I just want to say the only one stopping you from your dreams is YOU. This is coming from someone who stopped making excuses and started putting in action! 🎬 🎥

DACA recipients are marking 10 years since the program started, and while they celebrate the protection it has given them over the years, they are still battling towards a permanent solution.
I spoke with Indira Islas who was brought to the US at 6-years-old. The US is where she calls home. However, some lawmakers have been challenging DACA’s legality and an upcoming court hearing has many #DREAMERS facing uncertainty as to what tomorrow or even the next 6 months could look like for them. Three years ago when I started working in Salisbury, MD for my first reporting job, winning an award for my work was something I thought was out my reach. Whenever “award season” came around I would feel limited to what I could see myself winning because I would think “there’s probably someone better running”. Until I realized I was the only one doubting myself. At the start of 2021 I promised to never doubt myself again and start to believe in me.
By making that switch of mentality, a lot of driving around alone to stories across the Delmarva peninsula, a lot of solo reporting, a lot of where’s your camera man?, anchoring and producing shows in two languages, this is the direct result.
- Best TV News Anchor 🥇
- Best TV News Reporter 🥈 (2nd)
- Outstanding Serious Feature 🥇
- Outstanding Light Feature 🥇
- Enterprise Reporting (2nd) 🥈
- Outstanding Specialty Reporting (2nd) 🥈
- Outstanding News Series 🥇
Shoutout to mom and dad for raising me in a Spanish-speaking household 🇩🇴(and my curiosity as a child to want to read and write Spanish). This has allowed me to dominate two languages and this has been key in my career. Being a bilingual journalist is very hard but extremely rewarding. #SiSePuede#IfIDidItYouCanToo#JustAKidFromReading#Dominicana#ApAwards#CAPBA#AP
