Heard of the “Droste Effect”?
When Photoshop invited me to collaborate with them, I *knew* I wanted to make an illustration that spoke about me, my art and how formative this piece of software has been to myself as an illustrator. So, I had the idea of recreating my current drawing corner in a Droste Effect.
Some may not know its name, but that’s what is called whenever you see an image repeating itself within itself. Also known as “Mise en Abyme” and probably most known for its use in Diego Velasquez’s painting “Las Meninas”, this “infinite mirror” illustration always fascinated me. Here, I think it really speaks to how as an artist we’re always shaping ourselves with the artworks we create. What do you think? #MadeWithPhotoshop by @hugop.arts
