Tonight @prarthnasingh is launching her amazing book project “Har Shaam Shaheen Bagh: One Hundred Days of Resistance “
Come join her at the @photobookcafe 6-9pm 22 June 2022
The Shaheen Bagh movement was born in the eponymous working-class neighbourhood, on a frigid Delhi winter night in 2019, when a small group of Muslim women came out of their homes and sat down in protest. They had occupied a stretch of road on one of the busiest highways in the capital. Mostly housewives, the women who had never been involved in a political movement before were standing up against the Citizenship Amendment Act. The corresponding Bill, which had been passed with urgency and opacity through Parliament just a few days before, was designed to strip the Constitution of India of its promise of religious equality.

Jacob Lillis’ limited edition prints are now available on Palm* Studios
This series shot in 2015 was formed as a collaboration between Simone Rocha @simonerocha_ and Jacob Lillis @jacoblillis , showcasing some of his most recognised work.
“A project which stemmed from my documentary background. Starting out capturing flowers and wild plants growing in unusual surrounds and sharing them with my friend Simone Rocha.
Working with Simone now for over 10 years, we have always shared a visual understanding and kinship towards the similar. Back gardens, snickets and Irish lanes were always a point of reference for our early work.”- Jacob
