Locals consider it "Salzburg's most beautiful antique bathroom": the mausoleum of Prince Archbishop Wolf Dietrich - also known as Gabriel's Chapel - is considered an important example of the classical Renaissance north of the Alps. Built by the Italian Elia Castello around 1600, the circular building is reminiscent of ancient circular temples and central burial chapels derived from them in 15th-century Rome, such as Donato Bramante's Tempietto. The building impresses with its clean form, fine lines and shimmering crystal texture. The brightly colored tile decoration in the interior is reminiscent of ornately patterned Islamic ceramics. The magnificent stuccowork of the Comasken Castello, who is also buried on site, also bears witness to the cosmopolitanism, high cultural awareness and interest in art of the building's owner - Prince-Archbishop Wolf Dietrich, who was buried here in 1617. Many thanks at this point for the guidance and accessibility to the charming Gabi aka :

The Great Mirror Gallery 2.0 π For me one of the most outstanding spatial creations of the 19th century! Ludwig II demanded a true-to-scale copy of the Herrenchiemsee Gallery, which was built in 1879-1881 according to plans and under the direction of G. Dollmann. With an extension of 98 metres, the gallery is longer than the Versailles model and encompasses the entire garden front of the palace, including the associated corner rooms, the Peace Hall and the War Hall. The walls, clad in light grey and green stucco marble, open up between red pilasters towards the park in 17 arched windows, which are matched by large wall mirrors on the inside. Along with the architectural structure, the extensive picture programme of the barrel vault of Versailles was also adopted. The 33 glass chandeliers did not exist in the Versailles model. They enhanced the splendour of Ludwisg's nightly stays, as did the other huge chandeliers in the Grand Apartment. Merci to the
