Congratulations to my son, @jett_amoore for graduating from UCSC class of 2022. 🎉🎊
He graduated on time, in spite of the pandemic. Proud mama. And yeah, we got the c19 bug going to his graduation, but 10 days later its my birthday, and I’m feeling gooooood. :)
Happy Solstice To All!

Moonshine in Switzerland: meeting the next generation.
I recently had the pleasure of spending time getting to know the talented Kuhn sisters, Yamina and Angela. Both musicians who’ve performed together in their fathers band, Angela @angelavkuhn is also a filmmaker and Yamina @yamincy a DJ w/ a single out.
Pictured here in September 2021 in their parents backyard, after a great discussion about feminism & self liberation. @bowiththeflow was one of my dearest friends when I was modeling, and it was a joy to see her again and meet her family. 🌈❤️💕

No Shelter In Covid County
“Captain Chico”
Venice Beach, CA
2020
When I met Chico, he said he was happy to live at the beach. He wasn’t too worried about Covid, as long as he didn’t have to go to a shelter. Most homeless people I’ve met aren’t opposed to getting into permanent housing- they are opposed to living in a monitored shelter.
__
Of the 40,000 residents in Venice- an area of 3.1 square miles with home prices averaging 2.2m- approx 5% are unhomed.
“4 years ago Ca passed prop HHH. It approved 1.2b (plus 2.8b in loans) for housing. HHH has yielded 65 units in LA @ 534k per unit. To build the amount of units needed to house todays homeless population at those rates (as high as @ 700k per unit), it would cost upwards of 64 billion.”
Subsidizing rent would get a lot of folks indoors and keep those on the brink of homelessness from landing on the streets. Long term, I’m all for LA and the state utilizing some pastoral lands off the i10 and i5 to build communities of tiny homes with assisted services. We aren’t going to beat this problem housing a few hundred people here and there in a long term luxury property grab by the gov that doesn’t meet the moment.

These speeches. #survivorstories
Thank you to my survivor advocate sisters @iambeverlyjohnson@iamcarreotis and @saraziff for getting personal, and providing solutions. Their leadership is awe inspiring and the reason I joined @modelallianceny.

Did you know the average model makes $10,000 a year, and its a largely unregulated industry?
Its not a compliment to be sexually, financially nor emotionally abused. Not an honor to work for free for a big publisher, nor for peanuts for a major brand. Not a privilege to be trafficked by agents. #Time4Respect
Big love and gratitude for @ModelAlliance founder @saraziff, and for @syddgio! #modelalliance

Congratulations to @modelallianceny and thank you to @cfda for recognizing and honoring the work the Alliance has done.
Model Alliance will be the recipient of the first Positive Social Influence Award this year.
It has been an incredible honor to work with founder @saraziff, who has for the past decade pushed to advance rights and protections for the modeling and fashion industry; @syddgio; and all the survivors and members who are working so hard to effect real change.
Together, collectively, we advocate for the passage of the #adultsurvivorsact , and the adoption of #TheRespectProgram.
Under the guidance of Model Alliance, survivors have taken action against bad actors, appealed to senates in NY and Paris, and created awareness around these issues.
To support the Alliance, please help spread the word about the Adult Survivors Act. Contact NY legislators, or your own reps, asking for a similar act be passed in your state or country.
We invite you to learn more about #TheRespectProgram, and encourage model and industry workers to ask your agencies and reps to sign on to the program/ require clients be signed onto it.

Hi friends, here are a few of the press reports we gained from giving our depositions and having a press conference.
We ask for your support, and the signing of our petition (link in bio) to urge modeling + fashion corps sign on to the RESPECT program.
We are also pushing for the govt. of France, and the US, to lift all time barred restrictions on sexual abuse cases.
Thank you to all who’ve come forward to support our goals in effort to protect working youth from harm.

Elite | Model Journal | 1994
Within weeks of joining the agency the harassment by the boss, #GeraldMarie began. It continued across a three year period. While Marie did not manage to rape me like many of the younger models that he trapped in his home and abused- the conditions I was meant to work under made it really depressing and stressful -to be assaulted by your boss and having to fight him off. I can’t imagine how many years of trauma healing is needed being a teenager or young adult who was caused a lot more harm than me. I know it took decades for me to really process everything that happened to me.
The statute of limitations both in the US and France benefits the abuser, rather than respecting the science of trauma.
That’s why we are calling for an end to the statute of limitations for sexual abuse survivors.
We are calling on modeling and fashion corps to sign on to The Respect Program.
I’m one of many in the modeling industry to have dealt with this.
Women in many sectors deal with abuse, as do males. Enough is enough.
The Modeling industry is largely unregulated. That affords predators to control the careers of minors and young adults. It’s time the top brass- the ones that have been consistently employing abusers- step down. Models and bookers, it’s time to demand your agency sign on to The Respect Program. Organize with us to help force change at your agency. Everyone should be entitled to work without the physical, mental and financial harassment or abuse by bosses. If your agency refuses to be held accountable for their practices by signing onto The Respect Program, leave them.
Oh! and a shout out to @juliahaart, who claims she’s the new force to be reckoned with in regards to abusers in the industry. Still waiting for you to prove that. #makesyouwonder🤔 #alltalknoaction#time4RESPECT.
