If the woman I am today could tell the little girl I was years ago that was homeless & constantly told she wasn’t pretty enough or good enough to make it…that today I would be a 4x nominee 1x winner of the Grammys.. for all music that I WROTE and sang on my own…that I brought WEALTH into My first generation immigrant family from our little town in Pereira, Colombia where my father was homeless & doing hard labor in the streets since he was a child. that no matter all of the damage & suffering I went thru, my heart would remain pure. Because i am not the losses, the tragedies, the betrayals, or the abuses I experienced. I am not the chaos, the judgements or lies others may make of me. Being an artist means I get to take all of those things, and turn the pain into power. Being a pure soul means I get to heal myself, over and over again. & in knowing this, I’m brought peace I could never have found elsewhere.
