I really like to explore in different directions, and this time around I’ve decided to give a try on natural stones. Some materials just don’t go out of fashion, and this is the case, although lately I’ve been notice it has become a trend again and wanted to understand how this could work for me.
Marble is a really interesting material. You look at it as something that appears to be bold and strong, but at the same time it is also a fragile material that requires some care.
On the one hand, the idea with the “Tender” bench/table was to explore its design language through bulky shapes, mainly to have more room to highlight marble greatness and its amazing patterns. On the other hand, giving attention to details and working bulkiness in a soft and delicate way like embracing the wooden top through curved edges, but also creating a nice rounded chamfer to attach it.
Although exploring with different materials, I really wanted to keep the design language of the studio and so my starting point was the reinterpretation of the “Keeper” shoe rack.
