#IcePainting was a constant process of trial and (mostly) error to get right that took me 4 years and I could still never master black and white….. Until now??? Out of a batch of 32 only 5 looked useable 😐 let the melt begin!
Off sick with a very nasty non covid cough, but a dip into this piece (finally dry) is at least healing my mind. Honey, ginger and drugs will surely fix the body. I invented ‘Ice Painting’ over 4 years of constant RnD but there is still work to do. Black and White remain elusive to me in their ability to be frozen and return to liquid form. For now the fractured icebergs are happy accidents.
Here’s the swipey swipe of my largest #pollutingpainting to date part of my submission to @newcontemps 🤞 this one is on mirror and interactive so as the participant melts and pollutes their reflection slowly appears to them.
Whilst I’m doing my #pollutingpainting I’m going to be shooting some of my other work. This is the latest #IcePainting 305x305x20mm part of the silicone mould series. What I love about circular canvases is you get so many different images just by simply rotating the canvas.
The first in my #PollutingPainting series 🖤 I wanted a painting that seeps and oozes into a gallery space. It’s also a very long awaited return to #InteractiveArt for me, my first true passion, look forward to welcoming participants soon.
