Michael Maltzan Architecture has completed the iconic Sixth Street Viaduct in Los Angeles, also named the Ribbon of Light for its multiple concrete arches lit from below. the 1,067-metre structure features 10 concrete arches that nod to the original viaduct while enabling it to span railway lines, the Los Angeles river and a new public park. The concrete and steel bridge replaced a deteriorating structure, called the 6th Street Viaduct, that was built in 1932. Saudi Arabia has unveiled new renders of "The Line" - a mirrored linear city that would stand 500-metres tall and run for 170-kilometres across the desert. Its ideal climate all year round will ensure that residents can enjoy surrounding nature when traveling on foot. Residents will also have access to all facilities in THE LINE within a five-minute walk, in addition to a high-speed rail with an end-to-end transit of 20 minutes.
