I just found out that April is #csectionawarenessmonth and I couldn’t let the month pass bye without resharing these.
Taken at about 14 weeks postpartum! As many of you know, I had @asher_adeleke_world via emergency C-section last May. My entire pregnancy, I prided myself in learning all I could about labor and delivery and sadly, I had no preparation for a caesarean birth.
You can imagine how scary it was and how tough the process and recovery was not just physically but mentally and emotionally as well.
After my C-section, I struggled to walk, stand, sit up, get out of bed on my own! Laughing, sneezing, coughing hurt so bad 😭 And I nothing could have prepared me for the incision pain ! That first week was the toughest !
I wondered if I’d ever feel like myself again. I kept hearing people say give yourself time and grace but I was so impatient and I had to learn the hard way.
My advise to pregnant moms right now will be to prepare for everything. Prepare for labor & a vaginal delivery, prepare for an epidural and also prepare for a C-section. Educate yourself on the entire process and recovery with both.
And for those who just had one, you will recover, you will start to feel like yourself again. Not as soon as you think but like the OGs say, give yourself grace !
Are you a C-section mom ? What was your recovery and experience like ?
