Today’s #WCW is fierce and powerful, @roxanegay74 . A New York Times best-selling author, Roxane has been able to reach people with her powerful words. She has published countless works of fiction and non-fiction that have all left an incredible mark on the culture. I personally found myself drawn to her book “Bad Feminist” where her words were revolutionary and revelatory. She recognizes herself as a part of the LGBTQ community and has not been shy when it comes to describing her experience in it. I love that Roxane is consistently questioning, critically thinking, and quite literally pushing the envelope. Let us lift her up in the light of goodness and hold her there!

Today’s #WCW is the intelligent and respected, Dr. Brittney Cooper. As a fan I have been completely inspired by all of @professor_crunk research and insights. In particular, how she breaks down the experience of a black feminist in her book “Eloquent Rage: A Black Feminist Discovers Her Superpower.” Her body of work is massively impressive, but more recently in her newest book “Stand Up! 10 Mighty Women Who Made a Change” she was able to tell stories from historic female figures who have changed the world for standing up for what is right, and I love it so much because it’s illustrated and written so beautifully enough for me to show and read to Kaavia. It’s so important to me to show my daughter how these women like Rosa Parks and Ruby Bridges to name a few, literally changed history and made our world a better place. While there is much more work to be done, I must commend Dr. Cooper for reminding black women everywhere how much power we hold and continue to. Let us lift her up in the light of goodness and hold her there!
