The New York EDITION's four exterior bells are as iconic as the tower itself. The bells were designed by the same company (Meneely Bell Company) that created the historic “Centennial Bell” - which was hung in the place of the iconic “Liberty Bell” that signaled the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776. Hung on the outside of the tower’s 46th floor, 650 feet above the ground, they are the four highest-hanging bells in the world on record. The notes produced by these bells create a sound commonly known as the Westminster Chime and once kept time for NYC and at least 28 miles beyond. #NewYorkEDITION
