We are so proud to be supporting the production of a library in Zapotitlán de Vadillo, Jalisco. The library will also serve as supplemental classroom space for a community middle school that focuses on regenerative agriculture, ensuring that this knowledge will be preserved and passed onto future generations. Agave fibers (bagazo) are added to the soil to help with the structure and flexibility, and the hot liquid byproduct of tequila-making (vinaza) is also incorporated to help make the bricks waterproof.

Our bricks are made from agave waste products like bagazo and vinaza combined with adobe soil. Our adobe bricks are also made from dirt that is rich in clay with added sand for a sturdy base.

At 818, we partner with @sacredagave to create bricks from tequila waste products and donate them to community projects throughout Mexico.
