Happy Birthday to my favorite mad (design) scientist, intellectual outlaw, and man ahead of his time- Buckminster Fuller- born on this day in 1895. Here’s his own dome home in Carbondale, Illinois, assembled (in something like 7 hours) on April 19, 1960. Fuller and his wife, Anne Hewlett, lived in Carbondale during Fuller’s tenure at Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s School of Architecture.
