Going for that John Paul Jones mellotron sound from certain tracks of Led Zeppelin’s later days. “Bro don’t release an LP til you have a serious following, just release SINGLES!” Now get this, I’m doing BOTH! My plan is to release 7 singles, and then the 8th “single” will be released as the final track on the LP when that’s released. The LP will be all 8 singles as one coherent work. The mixes and productions will be slightly different from single to single, but once they’re all rereleased along with the 8th and final single as an album, all the songs will have the uniform production that you expect from one cohesive album. I had a lot of fun with this keyboard over the past few months, but now it is time to set her aside and make space in my desk for other things. I got THE STRUMMIES real bad this ACOUSTIC TIME OF YEAR! Swipe left to METALIFY THAT SHIT. The acoustic part is in 25/16, which I just think of as a bar of 4/4 followed by a bar of 9/16. Really once you get it you don’t have to think about the time signature at all. It’s in B Minor but the final chord is rooted in the flat 2nd, C. If you notice, every chord has the same F# on top. This gives a bit of a drone-pedaltone kind of vibe while still being very much not drone music at all. From the bridge of the third track of my upcoming LP, which I will be using to SEEK BANDMATES.
