@pat_coleman_racing hit a false neutral and @josh_herrin ran into the back of him during Saturdays final qualifying. Both riders hit the ground and both were not seriously injured.
Red Mile flat track race shot at night at a poorly lit track. The lights are set up for the crowd to watch horse racing from the stands with much less light from the inside of the track pointed back towards the stands. The Canon R3 performance was stunning. I shot a lot with the 800mm 5.6, which I never would have tried in such dark conditions with any of the 1Dx models. Oh, and I shot at 40,000 iso. The R3 impressed!

A throwback to the first big lightbank I made. My mother and I worked together on sewing it all together after I made the frame from aluminum tubing. Pictured here on location in Vancouver working on a Suzuki cruiser brochure with a very small but effective crew.
I've found myself sketching out a new smaller and lighter design on napkins lately...exactly how the first one came about.
Taken yesterday at the Texas Half Mile flat track race as the sun set and an almost full moon was rising. The Kokopelli like shadows cast by the riders remind me that, according to Hopi lore, Kokopelli can be seen on the full and waning moon. Also, in his domain over agriculture, his flute playing chases away the winter and brings about spring. Happy first day of spring.
I recently acquired a dear friends 888 after his passing. I owned this bike once before but sold it back to him so it could adorn his condo. I’ll add this to my other Ducati, a camera.
