Aarohi Client : Shoukath Ali Location : Ottappalam ,Kerala Area : 4600 sq ft Aarohi wants to gently rise and hover over its serene landscape, glancing over the picturesque vast paddy fields it overlooks. Our design approach focused on maximizing this gorgeous view, and the steep contour of the site which was almost a floor height below the front access road and continued to slope downwards as you moved to the rear, which we felt could be a huge strength of the site as the major view of the project is to the rear. There are multiple entry points to the site from front and rear side. The form includes parallel blocks with vernacular sloped roof floating structures. The tropical earthy material palette pays homage to the contextual setting. An exisiting retaining wall that split the site into two levels was integrated into the design and the form evolved with respect to that.
