I was so sad to hear of Robert Cumming’s passing in December. I had the great pleasure of working on his book at Aperture in 2015/16 and it was one of my favorite projects. I revisited the book this morning and found a little maquette he made me about “how to resolve the dilemma of a triptych.” Swipe to see.
I am (we should all be!) forever grateful to @sarahbaygachot for her research, support of his creative life, and determination. If you don’t know his work, visit the @aperturefnd website to read an interview by @davidcampany
Hope he’s found a “Spot with a nice view”. 🖤🤍🖤
along with pies and angst… don’t forget to bring some hilarity. I’m especially grateful for my family and friends this year. and their relentless good humor—despite it all 🤎💛🧡
