This concrete-filled door was used to shield the world's most intense source of continuous fusion neutrons.
It was 8 ft (2.4 m) thick, nearly 12 ft (3.7Β m) wide, and weighed 97,000 lbs (44,000 Kg)!
A special bearing in the hinge allowed a single person to open or close the door, which was used to shield the Rotating Target Neutron Source-II facility (RTNS-II) -- a national facility for fusion materials research.
Scientists from around the world used the facility to study the properties of metals and other materials that could be used deep inside fusion power plants envisioned for the next century.

It doesn't look like a mid-air collision. The bullet hit does not appear to have been fired. It was probably hit while it was in the cartridge box on a soldier's belt

Watch Brent Atkins attempt to break the 202 km/hr (126 mph) world record while riding a 120x15 fixed gear. He ended up setting an unofficial Canadian roller speed record of 148 km/h (92 mph)

One of the largest and most challenging engineering projects ever!
This 82 km (51 mi) man-made waterway connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and dramatically reduces the time it takes for ships to travel between the two oceans
A full transit across the canal takes about 8 to 10 hours by ship
The Pacific ocean is a little elevated compared to the Atlantic Ocean. Vessels have to go 26 meters (85 feet) above sea level when traveling through the Panama terrain
The water locks raise and lower vessels on different rivers and waterways to allow a safe and fast transit between the two oceans
