Saw this Common side bloctched lizard on our hike this weeked. These southern Californian natives are known for their polymorphism. The males of this species are seen in 3 different morphs each one sporting different traits such as color, size, and speed. Each form competes with the other, never fully outshining their rival morph; and leaving the species in a constant flux of these 3 morphs. #californiawildlife #wildlifephotography #lizard #reptiles
