#nowspinning @thelawrencearms ‘s 2006 album Oh! Calcutta! I discovered this album a few years after it came out, it was also my first exposure to the band. I was at @summerfest 2009ish trying to fanboy over Alkaline Trio. Talking to a vendor off to the side they asked me if I had ever heard of The Lawrence Arms…to which I had not, and the guy replied ‘you’re from Chicago and you haven’t heard of The Lawrence Arms?!’ Truthfully should have had my cool kid card revoked that day. But I bought the CD from them and my life changed on the ride home. I definitely get a warm and fuzzy feeling listening to a band from the hometown.
