On view in the @metamericanwing period rooms, the second in our two-part #MetInAmerica exhibition reveals hidden narratives of American fashion through cinematic "freeze frames" produced in collaboration with notable film directors.
Each room—including an 1830s Shaker Retiring Room, a 20th-century living room designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, a 19th-century parlor from Virginia, and many more—tells a different story, from the personal to the political, the stylistic to the cultural, and the aesthetic to the ideological.
