I had the privilege of music directing this year’s Gershwin Prize for Popular Song honoring Lionel Richie this past week. I’ll post more about this when it airs May 17th but for now want so say thank you to Lionel. The band and I wanted to do justice to Lionel’s songs but even more than that, honor Lionel himself for his generous spirit and incredible contribution to spreading love and happiness into all of our lives.
