For the transformation of this sprawling apartment in Hyderabad, architect Chirag Swain, Founder, Chirag Design Studio (@chiragdesignstudio), focused on creating pockets of warmth where art is always the focus. He says, “This 2,850sqft apartment in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad was visualised as a home that evokes feelings of walking through an art repository. We wanted to craft a space where people could appreciate the beauty of art and how it can be integrated into every corner of a house.” Chirag masters an amalgamation of colours, textures, materials, and finishes in creating a sense of harmony.
Talking about the significance of art in this refurbishing project, Chirag Swain says, “Art and the use of local craftsmanship and artisanal designs create dynamic areas throughout the house. Whether it’s the customised leather wall cladding with its intricately-hand tooled engravings or the handpainted “patachitra” artwork that’s on the east wall of the formal living, there is colour and drama.
